QME launch for new Sykes extra high head mining pump

Supplier News

Water management specialist AllightSykes will be launching a new mining pump at the Queensland Mining & Engineering (QME) Expo in Mackay on 24 July.

Designed to last longer and boost productivity in the extremely harsh conditions of mines, the SykesXH200 is the latest addition to the company’s new extra high head pumps range developed to operate in harsh mining, quarry and rental environments that demand both high water flow and pressure requirements.

Sykes Engineering and Pump Training Manager Gert Inja explains that the new mining pumps deliver pumping efficiency of 73% thanks to the switch from standard cast iron components to 316 stainless steel front and rear wear plates and impeller in addition to a clever new bearing bracket set-up featuring damping properties.

New features in the SykesXH200 extra high head mining pumps include a drive coupling that covers power requirements and resonance conditions to suit any pump and engine combination. The new drive coupling also makes the pump unusually robust while helping to reduce fuel consumption, emissions and maintenance costs, enabling the pump to deliver 180 L/sec of flow @ 150m.

AllightSykes will also be introducing the MVDS120P7 compressor from the Italian-designed and made Rotair at the QME. Rotair’s rotary screw compressors are powered by Perkins and supported throughout Australasia via the AllightSykes branch network.

Featuring the clever patented air-oil filtering process and ground-breaking screw system, the quiet and compact Rotair compressors can easily match the output and reliability standards expected of the market’s more mature brands.

AllightSykes will also be showcasing the P500-550 and XD12.5 generators from FG Wilson at the QME.

Head of global sales for AllightSykes, Paul Sowerby explains that the inclusion of FG Wilson generators within their portfolio of world class brands means miners no longer have to source and manage core equipment from different suppliers.

Available in gas, diesel or bi-fuel options, the FG Wilson line-up ranges from 10kVA to 2200 kVA and extends from open and enclosed generating sets for standby use, right up to power modules with the ability to operate as complete power supplies for entire mining operations.

Every FG Wilson generator is backed by the AllightSykes genuine parts, service and warranty assurance.

Allight mobile lighting towers have dominated domestic mining equipment markets for almost 20 years. The AllightSykes stand at the QME will also feature MS6k-9 and LED mobile lighting towers.
