Active Air Rentals provides temporary cooling solutions to a major exhibition venue in Sydney throughout the events season, helping create a comfortable environment for visitors.

A majestic venue with a striking vaulted ceiling and magnificent cathedral windows, the Royal Hall of Industries (RHI) in Sydney has been beautifully restored and is today, a popular choice for hosting prestigious events. The exhibition floor space of 5,400 square metres can hold up to 4000 people.

However, there’s no air conditioning provision in the building, necessitating the installation of a temporary cooling solution just before the events season kicks off each year. The Active Air Rentals team is responsible for installing temporary air conditioning that is both effective and sympathetic to the building’s age.

Active Air typically installs two 750kW chillers, four 300kW air handlers and relatively short duct runs connecting to the permanent ducting inside. The air conditioning units use house power, which is distributed using approximately 2km of cabling, multiple cable covers and 400amp road case splitters.
