organised a user conference recently on Queensland’s Gold Coast, attracting delegates from across Australia as well as Asia and the US.
Almost 150 people attended the popular Yokogawa user conference. Yokogawa has a strong installed base of control systems in key industry sectors across Australia.
The keynote presentation by Chevron Technology Manager, Process Automation, Deon F. Rae covered the massive Australia Pacific LNG project, which recently secured $8.5 billion in funding. Yokogawa has been chosen as a technology partner in the landmark project.
Highlights of the Yokogawa user conference included insightful customer presentations from various resources and power generation projects across Australia, including implementation of wireless monitoring systems in power station projects, power management at a major minerals processing plant in Western Australia and a new control system for a cutting edge thermal project in the Newcastle.
The conference also provided ample networking opportunities and social functions, including an entertaining and informative presentation on the topical subject of international economics by celebrity economist, Tim Harcourt as well as a humorous dinner appearance by comedian and author, Ahn Do.
The event also included hands-on user workshop sessions and updates on Yokogawa’s latest hardware and control systems.
International guests were in attendance from Asia and the US, including several senior executives of the Yokogawa Electric Company from Singapore and Japan.
