Yokogawa expands Safety Systems business in Australasia

Andy Yam, National Safety Systems Manager

Yokogawa, acknowledged worldwide for design, development, engineering and manufacturing of process control instrumentation, has appointed Andy Yam as National Safety Systems Manager at their Australian subsidiary (YAU).

Andy Yam has joined YAU at an exciting time in the company’s Australasian safety systems development program and will bring more than 14 years industry-orientated safety instrumented systems engineering and marketing experience to the company.

Andy Yam role is to develop and strengthen the existing dedicated team of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) specialists in YAU, as well as aid the sales teams by providing vital technical support and industry knowledge.

With plans to install a functional safety management system, YAU will soon ensure compliance with international functional safety requirements in all Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) implementation activities.

Furthermore, Andy maintains that an important part of YAU’s role as Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) vendors is to add value to its services by advising clients on functional safety matters where necessary, particularly to ensure SIS designs comply with safety standards.
