Yokogawa Electric and OSIsoft sign strategic partnership agreement
Yokogawa Electric Corporation and US-based software house OSIsoft Inc have signed a strategic partnership agreement, which gives Yokogawa exclusive regional access rights for the Californian Company’s real-time performance management (RtPM) platform technology, specifically for the Japanese regional markets.
Yokogawa, through its subsidiary Yokogawa Information Systems Corporation, has a longstanding relationship with OSIsoft as the exclusive sales agency for PI in Japan, pre-dating the development of Yokogawa’s own Exaquantum system. This relationship has been maintained to meet the specific demand of customers in Japan, who have standardised on PI as their process information management system (PIMS) platform.
Within the context of the agreement, Yokogawa will develop RtPM-based solutions for these customers in Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan. In the Japanese market the two companies will work to enhance the localisation of RtPM platform products and provide end-users with first-line technical support.
Yokogawa will continue to supply Exaquantum as the first choice for PIMS solutions for process historian functions at the process and manufacturing execution system (MES) level and will continue to invest in and further develop Exaquantum into the future.
