Yokogawa Australia  have released a new addition to their temperature controller product line, the UTAdvanced. A digital indicating controller with a sequence control function, the UTAdvanced offers improved measurement, display, operation, control and networking functions. It also eliminates the need for peripheral devices and associated wiring.

Yokogawa Australia’s control products have established a reputation for their ability to deliver precise control in the face of challenging control dynamics and the UTAdvanced continues this tradition. It takes the superior PID control that Yokogawa is known for and combines it with a new, standard, no cost embedded ladder sequence control. The UTAdvanced temperature controller supports 84 ladder commands, 24 DIO points, four analogue inputs and three analogue outputs, and allows up to 400 ladder steps to be programmed and run together with the PID control.

The PLC capability allows those who are using a temperature controller along with mini/micro PLC in an application to obtain the same control functionality in one package at the cost of the temperature controller. The UTAdvanced temperature controller has a high-intensity colour LCD display, an easy-to-use interface, full text scrolling configuration prompts, three configuration levels and user-defined function keys all packaged in a compact design.

The communication platforms in the UTAdvanced temperature controller include Ethernet, Profibus-DP and RS485, which support Modbus/TCP, Modbus RTU, peer-to-peer and master/slave protocols. At a time when changes in the marketplace are demanding that control instrumentation is easier to use and more capable, the UTAdvanced temperature controller accomplishes this by balancing an easy to use controller with the power to handle the challenging applications.
