Indonesia's premier petrochemical plant employ Yokogawa for replacement projects

Supplier News

PT. Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk. (CAP), Indonesia’s premier petrochemical plant, has employed Yokogawa Electric Corporation for replacement projects to upgrade their existing legacy distributed control system (DCS) and safety instrumented system (SIS) at CAP’s ethylene and polyethylene plant in Cilegon in western Java’s Banten Province.

Yokogawa Indonesia will engineer, commission and install the latest CENTUM VP DCS and ProSafe RS SIS as well as provide on-site operator training for CAP.

CAP chose Yokogawa to complete the projects due to a number of key factors including the reliability and proven track record of Yokogawa’s CENTUM VP and ProSafe-RS platforms and the close project support afforded by Yokogawa’s global maintenance and service network.

Ichsan Gafar, a director at Yokogawa Indonesia, said, “I think that the customer assessed and scored Yokogawa as the best long-term partner of the CAP Group, considering the strength of our products in terms of reliability and expandability, the operability of an integrated DCS and SIS solution under the Yokogawa brand, and our local engineering, project execution, and after-sales support capabilities.

“Through our implementation of these DCS and SIS projects for CAP and SMI, we will strengthen our relationship with the CAP Group.

“We aim to win contracts for their other projects as well and to expand our share of the Indonesian industrial automation market.”
