Yokogawa Australia has released details of its multi-task FieldMate field device management software.
FieldMate is a PC-based configuration tool, designed to perform a range of device management tasks including initial setup, daily maintenance, troubleshooting and configuration backup for field device replacement.
According to Yokogawa, these tasks are streamlined by FieldMate’s intuitive operation and integrated environment, which is independent of communication protocols.
Suitable for installation on either a desktop PC (for use in areas such as maintenance workshops) or laptop (to maximise site/device connectivity), the new software provides a user-friendly graphical user interface for function access.
Available functions include communication, device interface, configuration, history and database.
Designed as a one-tool-for-all package, the system enables direct access to intelligent field devices, regardless of device manufacturer or the field communication protocol in place.
FieldMate is available in two versions. The Basic version is suited for field device setting and adjustment for on-line devices in either HART or Foundation FieldbusH1 (FF-H1). The Advanced version adds an off-line database function for up to 300 devices, registered for device maintenance as well as support for Profibus communication (via Comm DTM).
According to Yokogawa, the new software’s support of both FDT/DTM and Device Description (DD) technologies makes it unique in field device management. The system incorporates the open FDT/TDM standard, and also supports both HART and FF-H1 via DD for devices that do not have DTMs available.
