YOKOGAWA Australia has introduced the DL1640 DC and DL1640L DC - new additions to its DL1600 Series of digital oscilloscopes.
These new members, like the rest of the 1600 Series, offer 200MHz bandwidth, up to 200MS/s sampling rates and extremely long memory - up to 32 Mword (32 million data points) simultaneously on each of four channels.
These new additions to the DL1600 Series scopes can be used anywhere; making them suitable for a variety of non-benchtop applications.
The new DL1640 DC and DL1640L DC can be powered in three different ways: using a battery, 12V dc, or ac power.
Using the optional battery box connected to the oscilloscope, users get two hours or more of battery powered scope use.
When connected to an ac power source, the battery makes use of its internal charger and recharges in about 4.5 hours. Using the battery offers the added benefit that acquired waveforms are unaffected by noise from an external power supply.
The ability to power the oscilloscope directly using a 12V dc is perfect for in-vehicle testing. This ability provides convenience for performing track, road, or off-road testing.
Finally, the new DL1600 DC scopes can also be powered using standard ac power. Connecting the battery box to ac power allows users to power the instrument while recharging the battery.
Plus, in case of an ac power failure, the battery will take over and provide uninterrupted waveform acquisition.
