SOS Print & Media Group move into 2006 with a Xeikon 5000

Supplier News

Punch Graphix, through its Xeikon brand, announces the purchase of a Xeikon 5000 by Sydney based SOS Print & Media Group.

SOS has moved into 2006 with the purchase of the 10 colour (5 over 5) Xeikon 5000 as their next progression in high production digital colour printing. After more than two years of extensive research locally and overseas, SOS found the Xeikon 5000 provided the best mix between flexibility in format and cost effective raw power of production for the A4, A3 and oversize markets.

"We are very excited about the installation and already developing applications for the Xeikon. There are so many opportunities, both for the large format as well as for the fast variable imaging engine. We already have customers asking when they can run jobs on the machine and we haven't even promoted it.", says Michael Schulz, director of SOS.

"SOS's decision to go with a Xeikon 5000 heralds a new era for digital printing in Australia. They are the first major commercial offset company to seriously embrace the increasing growth potential and opportunity in the colour digital printing market that the latest generation of digital presses provide." says Warren Davey, Managing Director of Xeikon Australia & New Zealand.

Installation of the machine will start late January with SOS expectation to be ready for full production a month later.
