ANYONE who has worn kneepads knows the protection they provide to the kneecap comes at a price. The straps holding them in place are far from comfortable and their stiff bulky shape makes any type of movement unnatural.
XAX Apparel ’s stand at The Safety Show will feature smart trousers with pockets that allow kneepads to be slipped in and out as needed.
While the concept is a simple one the KP trouser design was perfected with feedback from people who had trialled prototypes on a wide range of jobs. The result is a pair of trousers that allow the wearer to go from kneeling to climbing a ladder in perfect comfort. Aside from the pockets for the kneepads, the trousers come with seven pockets.
XAX shirts, overalls, vests and jackets all incorporate extras suggested by customers. Shoulder pockets for mobile phones, for example, make it easy to hear them ring over the noise of machinery and keep them out of the way of damage, but handy, when work needs to be done lying down.
The XAX stand at The Safety Show will also launch contoured, high-visibility work glove. Like the gloves worn by footballers and motocross riders, the XAX MX work gloves offer protection for knuckles and extra grip in slippery conditions, making them ideal for autoworkers and machinery mechanics.
Visitors to The Safety Show Sydney, which runs from 13-15 October at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, can try the XAX range of work wear for themselves at stand I30.
