Wormald exhibit newly compliant fire suppression system at QME

Supplier News

Wormald’s  main focus at QME this year will be their vehicle fire suppression systems, demonstrating the use of both foam and powder options.

Wormald have become one of the companies in Australia with a vehicle fire suppression system to comply with Australian Standard AS 5062-2006, passing the system approval for their Foam Water Spray Vehicle Fire Suppression System. In addition, Wormald are in the process of having their Ansul A101 Vehicle Powder System, already FM Global approved, also achieve AS 5062 compliance.

Wormald’s fire suppression systems provide critically needed risk reduction management for heavy vehicles as well as plant and equipment used in the mining and quarrying industries against the threat of fire. Should a fire break out, the systems are able to provide operators with the additional time necessary to safely evacuate.

Importantly, the Wormald systems also assist in helping to protect against business interruption by minimising damage to the vehicle or equipment through the suppression of the fire.

A complementary line also on display will be Wormald’s SABRE ELSA, the third generation version of the ELSA constant flow escape breathing apparatus, designed to aid escape for operators of heavy plant and equipment from hazardous atmospheres, such as fires or asphyxiating fumes that can arise in mines.

Providing breathable air, the SABRE ELSA consists of a compressed air cylinder with combined cylinder and pressure reducing valve, supply hose to air hood and stowage bag. The air supply is automatically activated upon opening the bag. The product is available in either 10 or 15 minute durations.

Wormald will be exhibiting at Stand 1039 and visitors can speak to the Wormald team for further information about their products and services.
