Carried out at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), Glen Hain has used his newly acquired skills to introduce a number of training programmes particularly for employees within Tyco’s fire installations and services business, Wormald .
These include emergency response and fire fighting programmes as well as helping to arrange a defensive driving course for company drivers. Tyco Fire & Security’s EH&S Co-ordinator for the ACT/Southern NSW region, Glen Hain, has received his Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as a result of one of Tyco’s training programmes.
According to Dave Scullin, Wormald ACT Manager, the new training programmes are proving to be helpful for their employees and they have received positive responses from participants. Wormald is now able to provide their employees with a proactive, in-house, training manager who can develop specific programmes tailored to the needs of the teams.
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is specifically designed for supervisors or managers responsible for the training and development of individuals and groups. Glen Hain said that the course was extremely comprehensive and very hands on, providing me with the confidence to immediately implement several programs for Wormald. Tyco’s dedication to training means that employees can benefit from a diverse range of programmes and he will actually be heading back to the CIT shortly to complete an audit course.
