Food industry specialist in integrated facility engineering, Wiley and Project Director Graham Harvey won the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) 2013 Professional Builder of the Year Award at a gala dinner in Melbourne.
Wiley’s world class engineering and construction on Primo’s $130 million smallgoods facility has been recognised multiple times with the AIB award being the sixth industry award in as many months. Wiley also took out the AIB’s National Award in the Research, Development and Technology category on the same night.
Describing the award as the pinnacle of the building profession in Australia for 2013, Project Director Graham Harvey said that the honour recognised Wiley’s commitment to creating a better future through innovation and active leadership in the Australian Construction Industry.
Managing Director Tom Wiley described the award as a landmark achievement for Wiley, and a testament to the many years of diligent hard work by the entire team.
He also said that the award was well deserved industry recognition to both the Wiley team and Graham as he adds this project to his long list of successful projects over his 40-year tenure at Wiley.
Looking ahead, the project is still competing at the State level of the QMBA Housing & Construction Awards with winners announced in October as well as advancing to the National level of the AIPM Project Management Achievement Awards.
