WheelieSafe Pty Ltd has been named a Finalist in this year’s Logistics & Materials Handling Mercury Awards.
WheelieSafe was chosen for its innovative solutions for the handling of multiple and very heavy wheelie bins.
WheelieSafe wheelie bin trolleys are available in a choice of four different models, each designed for a specific purpose.
Consisting of three manual models and an electrically powered version, WheelieSafe’s trolleys feature a specialised hook and bracket system that enables them to handle up to four bins at once.
Inspected for the award of a PCT Patent (PCT/AU2011/001640), the trolley design was found to be ‘inventive, innovative and industrially applicable’.
A key objective during the development of the wheelie bin trolleys was to provide a safer way to handle heavy and multiple wheelie bins, increasing productivity.
The biggest design challenge was developing a hook system that could lift varying sizes of wheelie bins from any side and then developing a bracket that provided a secure means of handling up to four bins at once. WheelieSafe overcame this through successive iterations of prototype development, testing and modification.
All trolleys meet significant OH&S requirements by providing a means of handling heavy or multiple bins without causing injury to the operator. The ability of two models to handle up to four bins at once increases productivity, especially in environments involving large numbers of bins.
