'SKILLS for the Next Generation, Human Resources and Manufacturing' is an important workshop that will feature as part of 2006 Western Sydney Manufacturing Week .
The workshop, to be held in Parramatta on Friday June 2, from 8am - 3pm, will focus on how to develop the appropriate skills and education capacity for the next generation of manufacturers.
The program includes a guest speaker from the National Manufacturing Summit 2005, David Charles from Insight Economics, who also facilitated the Global Manufacturing Workshop at the summit and Australian presenter at the recent Intelligence Manufacturing Systems (IMS) 2006 Vision Manufacturing Skills workshop in Korea.
Other speakers include Kathy Rankin, Policy Advisor, Education and Training, ABL/State Chamber and Dr Farhad Shafaghi, Executive Director, Advanced Manufacturing Centre as well as other industry experts.
Topics include skills needed for manufacturing in the future, the changing demographics for manufacturing, improving the image of manufacturing to attract the next generation of employees and students and apprenticeships of the future.
The event includes buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
