Janitza UMG 96RM digital panel meters, now supplied by Westek Electronics , are capable of not only monitoring electrical variables, but can also take impulse inputs from water and gas meters and analogue inputs.
These intelligent, four quadrant instruments feature a high sampling rate of 5.4 kHz, and can provide complete information for three and four-wire, three-phase systems or four single phase supplies.
A number of communication options ensures they can be used as a node in PLC distributed control systems, with connectivity provided via Ethernet (TCP/IP network operation)/USB/RS485 and Profibus or Modbus.
This ability to function as part of a network means that UMG 96RM digital panel meters play a central role in energy management systems.
Four digital inputs and six digital outputs are available, and in addition to measuring voltage, current and frequency, they can also measure harmonics to the 40th order.
The GridVis software suite, developed by Janitza, is supplied with UMG 96RM panel meters, enabling:
- the transparent setting of instrument measurement parameters
- a topological view of the system in which the meter/s is/are incorporated; and
- direct input to PCs with analysis of historical data, power quality and more.
