Available from Westek Electronics , the new Schaffner FN 3268 EMC filters are particularly suited to variable speed drive installations.

The range of applications the Schaffner low leakage EMC filters can be used in includes process automation, HVAC, conveyors and machine tools including CNC and woodworking equipment.

These low leakage EMC filters have been designed to be used at the input side of the variable speed drive and are interposed between the converter-dc link-inverter assembly and the residual current device. Use of the Schaffer FN 3268 EMC filters provides high attenuation of RFI and low leakage current, preventing false tripping of RCD’s. These EMC filters are suitable for phase-to-neutral voltages of up to 300 volts and line voltages to 520 volts. The range of line current ratings available extends from 7 amps (4 kW) to 180 amps (110 kW).

The Schaffner FN 3268 EMC filters enable the use of long motor drive cables (up to 30 metres with RCD protection set at 30 mA) for current ratings to 55 amps (37 kW) and 100 metres with RCD protection set at 300 mA, and for current ratings from 75 amps to 180 amps.
