New Janitza UMG 508 power analysers, available from Westek Electronics , are 144 x 144 panel mounting instruments that provide voltage, current, power and power quality measurements up to the 40th harmonic. A number of important applications, including data logging, revenue metering and event recording are provided by way of newly incorporated functions.

These multifunction power analysers are extremely fast and efficient and are equipped with a 500 MHz DSP (Digital Signal Processor). Continuous sampling of the 8 channels with 20 kHz per channel and 5 digital outputs allow the collection of all electrical parameters (more than 800 values), minimum and maximum values, and significant power quality values such as harmonics (up to the 40th for each phase with recognition of direction) as well as control functionality. Janitza UMG 508 multifunction analysers are supplied with large on board memory of 256 MB, and are equipped with protocols for building and energy management. The protocols included are TCP/IP, BACnet, NTP, FTP, SNMP and DHCP. These multifunctional power analysers are suitable for high impedance grounded systems (IT), grounded neutral (TN) and TT (MEN) supply networks.

A CD containing a data management soft ware package (GridVis) is supplied with all Janitza UMG 508 power analysers. GridVis allows application-tailored output of online data. The topology offers a quick overview of the power grid and the option to compare measuring points to one another as well the supervision of defined tolerances at a glance. Customised solutions are created with graphical files, for example .jpg format with circuit diagrams, production lines or building plans and to integrate the corresponding instruments by Drag and Drop to their actual position. Exceeding of limits (e.g. THD-V too high) and the conditions of the inputs and outputs may be indicated.
