Westek Electronics has announced the introduction of new Powerex QJD series Mosfets to the Australian market, designed for use in switchmode power supplies, high efficiency inverters and other high temperature environments.
These silicon carbide Mosfets are supplied as module packages consisting of two transistors in half bridge connections, with each transistor having a reverse polarity Schottky diode to enable fast recovery.
Capable of operating with a junction temperature of 200C, these Mosfets can deliver 1200 volts drain-to-source, with maximum pulsed currents of 250 amps (100 amps continuous) and a maximum dissipation of 880 watts.
The Mosfets feature very low switching losses, low capacitance and low drive requirements. All components and interconnecting circuitry are isolated from the heat sinking baseplate.
