Available from Westek Electronics , the Powerex BG2B Universal Gate Drive prototype board for IGBT pairs simplifies the design of high power, high dual IGBT driver boards with ratings to 400 amps.
The Powerex BG2B driver boards satisfy the requirements of total gate charge and optimise turn-on and turn-off in terms of minimising switching losses. Powerex BG2B also prevents cross conduction and gate rigging for paralleled IGBT driver boards.
The Powerex gate drivers use opto-couplers that are high-speed for signal isolation (to 2500 volts rms) and non-saturation conditions for thermal protection of the IGBT driver boards.
Additionally, the driver boards provide isolated fault feedback signals. IGBT ratings of 100, 200 and 400 amps are offered in three basic models. The Powerex boards derive their power from Powerex DC-DC converters, and a selection of 15 V or 24 V is available.
