The Westek WestSine Active Harmonic Filters (AHF) generate an anti-phase signal to the harmonic current components produced by the load. Active Harmonic Filters reduce total harmonic current distortion to below 5%, in line with IEEE 519 (1992).

Responds to harmonic load currents and non-linear components
  • Reduction of Harmonics to below 5%
  • Reactive current control
  • Load side transient suppression
  • Load side surge suppression
  • Reduces the effect of supply sags and surges
Active Filters with IGBT Technology
  • Connected in parallel with the circuit they ’protect’ and draw leading phase angle current in order to provide DC link power for the converter
  • The control logic for the IGBT’s modulate their output to achieve this precise matching of the non linear current components and harmonics ranging from the 2nd to the 51st order
  • May be connected in parallel and in three-wire execution are available in current ranges from 25 to 300 amps (4 wire models range from 25 to 100 amps) and voltages to 690V
Active Harmonic Filters applications
  • Building automation
  • Cement industry
  • Data and banking centres
  • Elevators, HVAC installation
  • Machines and automation
  • Oil and gas exploration
  • Paper mills
  • Ship propulsion
  • Steel industry
  • Tunnel ventilation
  • Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
  • Variable-frequency drives
  • Water/wastewater treatment
  • Welding equipment
  • Wind turbines and automotive
The WestSine Active Harmonic Filters are based on IGBT technology and designed to isolate harmonic currents and thereby protect equipment on power distribution systems.
