SCHAFFNER, represented in Australia by Westek Electronics , has introduced three immunity testing systems suitable for various ISO and SAE compliance regimes. The NSG 5500/5600 systems provide an economical solution by way of modular plug-in generators addressing specific tests.
A transient module generates ISO 1, 2 and 6 variants. A load dump module accurately mimics the high energy pulse from the alternator when the battery is disconnected. A fast transient interference module injects signals into the vehicle's electrical network. The systems also have a capacitive coupling clamp.
The mainframe units of the Schaffner NSG 5500/5600 accommodate the various generators. All testing is available from a single output connector with electronic-switch control of the connection/disconnection of the vehicle's battery. Outputs on the rear panel are suitable for test execution control and oscilloscope triggers.
The PA 5840 Battery Simulator replaces the vehicle battery. Its wide bandwidth amplifiers cater for high slew-rate inrush currents Pulse 2b, pulse 4, sine wave noise and arbitrary waveforms are readily simulated.
