Weidmuller ’s new 8-port managed switches for industrial Ethernet are designed for direct hook-up to the network in the field and equipped with M12 D-coded connectors.
Designed for use in harsh environments in close proximity to machinery, the IE switches are housed in a robust plastic housing rated to IP 67 and flammability class VO.
Weidmuller has comprehensively fitted out its managed switches including redundant power supply, configuration option via a web browser or RS232 port, redundancy through RapidRing protocol (switching time <300 ms), additional port blocking/filtering/setup features as well as VLAN-, port- and MAC-based QoS, IP type of service (TOS) and DiffServ.
The switches can withstand a high temperature range of -40 °C to +60 °C without any risk of damage.
Weidmuller’s managed switches also include the following numerous features as standard: Port trunking, port mirroring, VLAN IEEE 802.1Q, filtering and forwarding table with fixed entries, selective multicast control, quality of service, configuration via web interface or terminal programme, SNMP V.1 capability, RSTP and RapidRing, IGMP snooping with query mode support, as well as auto-crossing, auto-negotiation, auto-polarity and broadcast limitation, flow control to IEEE 802.3x, DHCP, RMON (statistics, history, alarms, events).
To facilitate visual control, all IE switches have an integrated LED at each port to indicate an active link, speed and data respectively.
Flow control is performed in half-duplex/full duplex mode. These managed switches are equipped with a redundant power supply, a fault relay for PLC support and a serial interface.
