WEIDMÜLLER has released the ITXPlus universal, loop-powered signal converter. It can be programmed to suit most input signals. It will measure, convert, filter, and isolate a signal and provide an industry-standard 4mA-20mA output.
Versions are available in rail mount or hockey puck housings. The unit can be progammed to measure temperature using any currently-available thermocouple or RTD type. It will also accept resistance, potentiometer (position), millivolt, milliamp and voltage signals. Recalibration is unnecessary.
The ITXPlus has lead length compensation for three-wire and four-wire RTD and resistance measurements. It also has automatic cold junction compensation for thermocouples.
The setup software allows users to completely configure the unit. The program has inbuilt square root, linear, x1.5, x2.5 transfer functions and a table of input/output values can be set up to suit any unusual curve.
