MANUFACTURED in Switzerland, the HTC range of honing machines are capable of removing material at a rate of 50 cubic inches an hour in soft steel and capable of honing diameters from 25.4mm up to 1 metre.
Distributed in Australia by Watson Specialised Tooling , the machines are available in lengths from 1 metre up to 16 metres.
The computer controlled system allows control of all functions such as stroke positions, motion control, stone feed, and cutting pressure for optimum control of bore geometry.
The automatic bore correction system senses bore size variations and selectively hones "tight" areas until good bore geometry is achieved. The machine can adjust the stroke as required for the optimum bore geometry.
Spindle speed range is from 10 to 350rpm, and stone feed is achieved by the computer controlled servo-drive. The standard workholding fixture device is universal, simple and has a range from OD 30 to 600mm.
A touch screen display allows for easy and quick programming. Just touch the screen to input workpiece specifications. A tooling recommendation is given and spindle speed is calculated automatically.
The display shows all the machine conditions such as spindle load, high and low spots, hone head position, time, feed settings and power limits.
The HTC Series of hones makes sizing and finishing of big bores simple and economical.
