On October 30, 2006 Watlow celebrated the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China.
The purpose of the new facility is to serve Watlow customers that currently have a presence in China.
The goal of a local facility in the region is to create new business and make the company more competitive in the China market. Watlow will manufacture tubular heaters at this facility.
According to Global Sales, Watlow built this new facility to support the local market.
Watlow recognises China as a dominant player in the world market and is committed to serving the region. Global Sales feel it is an important step in helping them achieve its long-term goal of growing its business in Asia.
Teams in the United States and China have worked together to make the grand opening a reality.
Employees in both locations have been given the opportunity to travel internationally and be involved in the start up of a new facility.
All of this would not have been possible without the cooperation and dedication of all employees involved.
Although the grand opening is schedule for today, the facility has been functioning for several months. The facility made its first customer delivery on August 25, which was an important step for to the facility and the teams.
