City West Water’s major water-using customers are provided with smart meters to save water.
The meters, from Watersave Australia , known as WaterGuard, are installed at customer sites as part of a $405,000 project, funded by the Department of Sustainability and Environment.
WaterGuard meters provide customers with instant or real time volumetric monitoring, and continuous water use data on their computers.
WaterGuard meters will help customers to understand better their water use and enable them to prepare daily, weekly or monthly water consumption information as required. Customers will be able to identify disruptions such as leaks and respond more quickly to them.
The project includes buying and connecting WaterGuard meters to the top 104 City West Water customer sites and funding maintenance for one year.
