WARSASH Scientific has released a portable radiometer and detector probe, calibrated for measuring the power density of dental UV curing light wands.
The IL1485 radiometer from International Light is a portable instrument that measures the power density the wands used for dental UV setting epoxies to ensure they are operating properly. The results are displayed in mW/cm².
The detector probe has a 1mm diameter sampling aperture to permit uniform measurements across the face of the wand. It is calibrated to match the action spectra of popular bonding agents at 470nm and 430nm.
The system is designed to accurately measure the output of high-divergence wands and has a peak power limit of 2W/cm² for handling powerful UV curing systems. It provides NIST traceable results and is suitable for quality control by manufacturers who want to profile output uniformity over the wand's entire surface.
