IMRA ultrafast femtosecond fibre lasers available from Warsash Scientific

FCPA µJewel

Warsash Scientific  provides the μJewel family of femtosecond lasers from IMRA America.

Based on IMRA’s patented Fibre Chirped Pulse Amplification technology (FCPA), the FCPA μJewel family offers ultra-short, femtosecond laser pulses with up to 10µJ pulse energies at near infrared-wavelengths.

The FCPA architecture uses ytterbium (Yb) doped fibre and enables the selection of repetition rates between 100kHz and 5MHz. Users can choose from high energy operation with 10µJ pulses at 100kHz and 1µJ pulses at 1MHz.

The ideal properties of femtosecond lasers including, short coherence length, broad bandwidth and ultra short pulse duration facilitate the development of new cutting edge applications in microscopy, high-speed testing, metrology, medical imaging, and pulsed laser deposition.

The femtosecond lasers are especially well suited for use in micro and nanomachining applications where the ideal ablation properties of femtosecond lasers enables high precision processing with reduced thermal effects, debris, recast, and burring.

Additionally, they allow easier cutting and drilling of transparent materials with less collateral damage to the work piece. These processing capabilities are currently applied in the semiconductor industry as well as the field of ophthalmic surgery.

All models in the FCPA μJewel family are ultra-compact, turnkey, maintenance free, feature a rugged design and operate without the need for external cooling.

Engineered for commercial, OEM and research applications, IMRA's pulsed fibre lasers are setting the standard for reliability and long life time.
