Available in Australia and New Zealand through Walls Machinery , the new TDLC sensor introduced by Teledyne TapTone to its patented line of pressure inspection systems provides sensitive leak inspection on low profile containers and containers with challenging geometry that have foil and film seals.

Designed to take pressure measurement from the top of the container on the seal rather than on the sides to yield a more sensitive measurement, the new TDLC sensors offer several benefits with their simple design, leak detection at production line speeds and greater sensitivity on low profile containers.

The TDLC sensor is also available as a retrofit for existing T4000 compression and low profile compression systems.

The TDLC sensor is suitable for flexible packaging applications using foil and film seals, convenience style single serve soup, yoghurt or sauce as well as hot filled products with head pressure deflection.

Operation of the TDLC sensor:

  • The T400-C or CLP uses parallel belts that compress the sidewalls of the container slightly to create a positive internal pressure
  • The belts transport the container underneath the TDLC sensor, which contacts the foil or plastic seal and takes pressure measurement
  • Utilising DSP technology, the controller analyses the measurement and assigns a merit value to each container
  • If the merit value is outside the user-set acceptable range, a reject signal activates a remote reject system and the container is removed from the line
