World-leading compact construction equipment manufacturer, Wacker Neuson
has moved its factory to a new location in Hörsching.
Wacker Neuson’s Hörsching facility is one of the most modern and largest compact construction machine factories in the world. Production began on May 10 and the first compact excavator, a Wacker Neuson 3503 was handed over to the new local municipality in Hörsching.
Martin Lehner, deputy chairman of the Management Board of Wacker Neuson SE explains that the move to the new factory was necessitated by the increasing demand for their own products in addition to the cooperation with Caterpillar for the production of excavators of up to 3 tons, which pushed them to their capacity limits.
Built with an investment volume of 65 million euros, the new factory is a development and production location for compact construction machines of up to 14 tons including compact and mobile excavators, compact loaders, wheel dumpers and crawler dumpers.
The new Wacker Neuson factory is located on a 17-hectare property in direct proximity to the airport and has a covered area of 48,300m². The new location also houses an ultramodern production hall with a total of six assembly lines and an in-house testing ground, a paint shop with powder coating and a sandblasting unit, along with an office building with modern equipped workstations and a cafeteria.
The facility also includes an in-house apprentice workshop, an ultramodern testing area and a service workshop for training purposes. The new factory helped create 200 new jobs and currently employs 520 persons.
