The new RD 16-100 vibratory roller from Wacker Neuson is suitable for compacting surfaces in baseline areas. Wacker Construction Equipment AG (soon to be Wacker Neuson SE) have added the new RD 16-100 to their RD 16 vibratory roller family. With its 100 cm-wide drums, the RD 16-100 vibratory roller is suitable for compacting surfaces along edges and in baseline areas. The manoeuvrability and compact design of the RD 16-100 vibratory roller make it suitable for work in cramped conditions. Additional benefits of this new model include its ergonomic design and strong compaction performance.
The RD 16-100 vibratory roller is suitable for working in restrictive conditions. According to Wacker Neuson, the RD 16-100 vibratory roller is equipped with a 100 cm-wide drum, making it stable with even and solid ground contact. Its high degree of manoeuvrability and compact design is suitable for work in restrictive conditions such as parking lots, driveways and along the edge of curbs or the sides of roads.
In all these environments, the RD 16-100 vibratory roller is good at compacting soil as well as sub-bases and surface layers. A double drum drive utilises the power from the machine’s high-performance water-cooled Lombardini motor to ensure optimum traction. The RD 16-100 vibratory roller delivers better compaction performance because of the option of one or two vibrating drums. When working on asphalt, RD 16-100 vibratory roller’s productivity levels are further increased by a reliable flow of water delivered by the machine’s pressure-driven sprinkler system. A time-interval switch with eight positions enables the flow of water to be adjusted to the type of asphalt being used.
The ergonomic design and structured controls of the existing RD 16-90 and the new RD 16-100 vibratory roller make these machines easy to operate and comfortable to handle. The ergonomically designed operator seat and low-vibration platform reduce operator fatigue, while the sloping hood and high seat position ensure high visibility in all directions. Both RD 16 models are machines that are equipped with lights as standard, enabling them to be operated in the dark or when visibility is poor. Wacker Neuson observe that the two RD 16 models are designed to provide better working conditions and raise productivity levels.
