Vortex Welding Protection
WIA and Miller have joined forces to create the Vortex, featuring a high quality respiratory unit, combined with the latest technology from Miller.
The Vortex has been designed for welding environments where eye and respiratory protection is absolutely essential to keep injuries and ingestion of welding fumes to a minimum.
Vortex Welding Helmet Features
Digital Lens Technology for the Ultimate Control
The latest lens technology from Miller delivers the ultimate control thanks to a feature known as X-Mode. X-Mode operates by sensing welding current, whereas traditional welding respirators work by light sensitivity.
The result is that the Vortex doesn’t experience the dramas other welding respirators do, such as failing under bright sunlight conditions or because sensors are obstructed when working in confined spaces.
4 Modes of Operation
Deliver the flexibility to weld, cut and grind, all with one helmet
- Welding mode (Shades 9-13)
- Grind Mode (Fixed Shade #3)
- Cutting Mode (Shades 5-9)
- X-Mode (Shades 9-13)
Ergonomic Design
A lightweight and ergonomic design delivers maximum comfort when welding for long periods of time. A lightweight shell, fully adjustable headgear and a back harness all maximise user comfort.
Heavy Duty Welding Equipment
The Vortex is the only heavy duty welding respirator with a choice of shell graphics, ultimate protection is now combined with built in attitude.

Vortex is not suitable for welding environments containing dangerous levels of poisonous gases not suitably filtered by a P2(SL) particle filter, or containing gaseous particles or oxygen deficiency.
The purchaser is responsible for testing the welding environment prior to purchase and for selecting appropriate respiratory protective equipment. WIA will not accept responsibility for any equipment purchased for unsuitable welding environments.
