Mikron Infrared (USA) have recently announced the release of the M9200 series of process thermal imagers.
The M9200 series of process thermal imagers, available from W & B Instruments , operate at short wavelength and are specifically designed for high temperature applications up to 3000° C with an accuracy of +-0.5 of reading.
A number of lens options are available with process thermal imagers, allowing a target size of less than 0.12mm to be measured. The short wavelength operation is minimally effected by emissivity and allows sighting through quartz view ports. Ambient temperatures to 100 °C can be tolerated with the optional cooling.
Over 300,000 temperature points can be measured at 60 times per second with the shutter-less camera operation. The real time Gigabit Ethernet interface with IP –address ability allows remote operation over a local area network.
The MikroSpec software allows up to 32 ’regions of Interest’ in one of 10 shapes to be configured and includes such features as real-time image temperature analysis and additionally off line analysis including data export to Excel and image sequences to .avi video files
Applications of thermal imaging systems include R & D, furnace operations and steel manufacturing.
