W&B Instruments has announced the release of the M770/780 series of advanced digital infrared thermometers manufactured by Mikron.
This new series has the unique ability to measure the temperature simultaneously in three different ways, using single and dual (ratio) wavelength techniques.
This ensures all laws of radiation physics are observed for accurate measurements.
If there is any inconsistency between readings the smart microprocessor algorithm identifies the source of discrepancy on the rear display or remotely for immediate user correction.
The series is available in a number of different versions with such features as 'through-the-lens sighting', fibre optics and video output with the ability to measure objects down to less than 1mm diameter.
The series covers the temperature range 350-3000°C with ultra fast response (7.5ms) and high accuracy (±0.5%).
All units feature analogue and bi-directional RS485 digital output with 'Mirdac' software for remote configuration and monitoring and integral bright alphanumeric LED display.
Other standard features include: built in temperature alarm, internal ambient temperature monitoring, average, peak, hold modes, 24V dc operation, rugged IP65 housing and much more.
Applications include: heat treating, glass melting, foundries, induction heating and vacuum melting.
