Ink jet printer

THE Hitachi PX2 ink jet printer, available Visy Technology Systems , has a large colour touch screen operation panel.

It has a simple ink management system which delivers high print quality at high speeds. It is has a very economical fluid consumption rates. The touch screen delivers system prompts to the operators to inform them of required maintenance and system status. Smart self cleaning systems and on board print quality management systems simplify day to day use.

The software provides the ability to print multiple lines of codes with a mixture of font sizes and characteristics. Data fields can be static or variable containing dates, counters and graphics, including barcodes and data matrix 2D codes. A memory card slot can be used to keep data backed up or to share data between printers.

The PX2 is built from stainless steel and impact resistant plastic materials built to an IP55 rating for use in harsh environments. It does not require a compressed air connection making it portable . A 4m standard length cable allows the head to be positioned in the most convenient location on the production line.

Hitachi offers a range of inks specifically suited to particular packaging materials, environmental conditions and processes. Inks available include UV readable, Vivid Yellow, Retort Colour Change, and a variety of blacks and colours for difficult to code substrates.

When configured with Visy ID-Link the printer can be updated from any PC on a plant network and whenever it needs maintenance it can send an email to the mailbox of a line supervisor. All machine alarms and print statistics are logged and held in a report file for later analysis.
