World-leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, Victaulic will be launching a new range of fire protection system fittings at Fire Australia and Hazmat 2016 this May in Melbourne. Designed for fire protection systems, Victaulic’s new Installation-Ready FireLock fittings assure faster, simpler and safer installation using fewer fasteners.

Visitors to the Victaulic booth (Stand #56) at Fire Australia and Hazmat 2016 can also view the full range of VicFlex sprinkler fittings designed to utilise a flexible, stainless steel hose to allow sprinkler installation on suspended and hard-lid ceilings. These fittings replace threaded hard pipe drops and arm-overs, and offer the tightest bends in the industry as well as the highest number of bends allowed.

Victaulic Regional Manager David Greenwood explains that the new FireLock Installation-Ready couplings have revolutionised the planning and implementation of fire protection systems where safety, installation speed, efficiency and reliability are important factors. Additionally, the new VicFlex range has also revolutionised the sprinkler fittings market with contractors installing as many as 60 drops per man per day, demonstrating the fastest way to connect the fire sprinkler to the branch line.

Installation-Ready FireLock fittings

Victaulic’s Installation-Ready FireLock fittings feature a one-piece design, replacing the conventional 22-part construction, allowing quicker installation, and enabling consistently faster pipe joints and up to 75 per cent less jobsite inventory. The faster and simpler installation allows contractors to optimise crew size and better manage their labour risks.

Key features and benefits of Installation-Ready FireLock fittings include one-piece grooved fitting with built-in couplings eliminating loose parts; up to 4 times faster to install than traditional couplings and fittings, reducing installation time; up to 10 times faster to install than threading option; up to 45 per cent shorter than traditional FireLock fittings, accommodating tighter ceiling spaces; one-piece integral gasket with no wetted metal, eliminating the need for galvanised fittings to address internal corrosion; and up to 75 per cent less fittings on projects reducing jobsite inventory.

VicFlex sprinkler fittings

Offering the fastest way to connect the fire sprinkler to the branch line, the flexible VicFlex fire sprinkler fittings deliver the assurance of fast and dependable installation, durable performance, and cost-effective maintenance and retrofits.

Key features and benefits of VicFlex sprinkler fittings include no set up or clean up needed with no threading required for installation; no loose pipe nipples, elbows, reducing couplings, hangers, or close nipples; installed to the ceiling, therefore moving with the ceiling to maintain the ceiling plane; stainless steel construction with corrosion resistance; reduced jobsite coordination as most ceiling tiles can be installed with VicFlex AB1 bracket already in place; and up to a third less weight than hard pipe arm-overs, reducing material handling.

Fire Australia and Hazmat 2016 will be held on May 4 and 5 in Melbourne.
