The new Victaulic Series 725 diverter valve is the first grooved-end valve designed specifically for mine backfill piping systems.
Designed by Victaulic, the world’s leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, the Series 725 diverter valves eliminate the need to reposition fill lines, reducing handling and increasing operational efficiency. By providing 180-degree service, the valve reduces the need for crews to manually redeploy backfill piping systems to other areas of the mine, saving time and money.
David Sharkey, Vice President Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia explains that Series 725 diverter valves help their customers meet schedules, offering an efficient solution to reduce man hours during installation.
Key features of the Series 725 diverter valves include a rugged ductile iron body and a 5D bend profile ensuring smooth, continuous flow and durable, reliable service; adjustable stop allowing the plug to align properly with the outlet to improve performance and reduce wear; tamper-resistant lockout and blowout-proof stem design; 6-inch size; ability to withstand pressures up to 6,900 kPa; and standard ISO 5211 mounting flange. The valve can be provided with a gear operator or electric actuator for remote opening and closing.
