To meet the needs of rental centres and small landscape contractors, Vermeer Australia have introduced the new s400TX mini skid steer. The s400TX is powered by a 23hp (17kW) Kohler Command air-cooled petrol engine.
The s400TX has easy-to-operate controls that are similar to those found on the larger s600TX. These controls are ergonomically positioned for increased performance and ease of use. The operator’s platform is enclosed within the machine framework and features console cushions for enhanced operator comfort and protection, while turning and manoeuvring over uneven terrain. An industry-exclusive operator presence system in the platform locks out the machine functions should the operator step off the platform.
The s400TX track undercarriage features a high mount sprocket track-drive with a standard 7 inch (17.8cm) rubber track or 9 inch (22.8cm) track option that produces only 3.8 psi (0.2 bar), substantially less than the 8 psi of the human foot.
With 6 inches (15cm) of ground clearance, the s400TX is capable of traversing terrain. With a length of 76.5 inches (194cm), width of 34.5 inches (87.6cm) and weight of 885kgs, the unit is easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces and weight sensitive areas.
Despite its small stature, the s400TX features a hydraulic flow rate of 11.5 gpm (43.5L/m) and delivers a rated operating capacity of 500 pounds (227kg) and a maximum lifting height of 69 inches (175cm). The curved loader arms on the s400TX offer improved reach as the boom lifts out and up, providing more clearance to load and unload material.
The 28.4L fuel tank in the s400TX minimises the need for multiple fuel stops throughout the day. The operator can easily access the engine compartments for routine maintenance and service. A standard quick attach plate offers numerous attachment opportunities.
