Plicsradio - Wireless communication for industrial applications

The wireless communication technology that is already common practice in office communication and private life is now beginning a successful takeover of industrial applications.

With the new sending and receiving unit Plicsradio it is possible to wirelessly transmit 4 … 20 mA/HART signals as well as switching states of sensors over great distances to the control room or relay station.

By using a license and registration-free transmission range, Plicsradio (wireless communication) offers a simple radio link as an alternative to cable connections in industrial environments.

Obstacles like streets, railroad lines, rivers and buildings can thus be overcome without difficulty and at low cost. Wireless communication is also suitable for mobile plant components such as conveyor belts or rotating containers. Plicsradio is also the optimal solution for fast and uninterrupted expansion of existing plants.

The sending unit records the measured values and can at the same time serve as an intrinsically safe power supply for sensors connected via cable.

The operating range of the 2.4GHz standard version bridges distances up to 1,000m. Field strength of the radio link is shown in diagnostic information displayed on Plicsradio.

The adjustment of Plicsradio is carried out either on site with the adjustment module Plicscom or via a PC with PACTware. This allows complete access to HART sensors from remote locations.

Plicsradio from Vega Australia stands for simplified installation and lots of flexibility for operation, parameter adjustment and diagnosis from a distance.
