Yet the tried and true pulse radar technology, with its high signal sensitivity and echo evaluation specially optimised for bulk solids, remains the heart of the radar level transmitter instrument.

In 2004 Vega Grieshaber introduced a radar level sensor called the Vegaplus 68, the first radar level sensor specially developed for level measurement of bulk solids.
