Wind Measurement with the WXT520 Weather Transmitter
The wind measurement is based on an advanced ultrasonic wind sensor, Vaisala WINDCAP® Sensor. The sensor measures both horizontal wind speed and direction using a Vaisala patented array of three equally spaced ultrasonic sensors. This design ensures accurate wind measurement from all wind directions without blind angles or corrupted readings.
Precipitation Measurement with the WXT520 Weather Transmitter
The precipitation measurement in the WXT520 is based on the new Vaisala RAINCAP® Sensor. Compared to traditional precipitation gauges, the sensor gives more detailed information about precipitation such as accumulated rain fall, rain intensity and duration - all in real time.
Humidity, Barometric Pressure and Temperature Measurement
The humidity, temperature and barometric pressure measurements are based on the well known Vaisala patented Vaisala HUMICAP®, Vaisala THERMOCAP® and Vaisala BAROCAP® Sensors.

The WXT520 offers RS232, RS485, RS422 and SDI-12 interfaces for connecting to third party equipment such as a logger, PC, PLC etc. You can poll the WXT520 to obtain ASCII data or the WXT520 can be configured to output ASCII data at a set interval.
