VIOSH Australia is a cross-disciplinary centre located in the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Ballarat, leader in the field of teaching and research in Occupational Health and Safety. Together with a network of consultants, VIOSH Australia provides training, professional consultancy and contract research.
VIOSH Australia offers a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hazard Management. This course is the first year of the Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management, the longest running and most respected OHS course in Australia.
Conducted over one year on a part-time basis, the Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hazard Management is designed to enable students to explain the management of occupational health and safety within a systems framework and explain the concept of safety culture and its relationship to improving safety in the workplace. Students are also shown the sociological and psychological bases of human behaviour in the context of safety culture and safety practices and the process that leads to fatalities, injuries and disease. Regulatory policy issues, laws that regulate occupational health and safety and their inter-relationship are also explained in this course.
