The new float version with level switches Vegaswing 63 and electrode EL 3 for oil/water detection are now available from Vega Australia . It is used for reliable detection of leakages, e.g. in tank dikes. The vibrating level switch Vegaswing 63 detects whether the float is floating on a liquid or sitting in dry surroundings.
The conductive measuring probe EL 3 provides information on whether the liquid is a conductive medium, like water, or a non-conductive medium such as oil. All possible leakage states in containment systems can thus be detected and clearly identified.
This new version supplements the existing float version with capacitive level switches Vegacap 63 for oil/water detection, which is used for detecting even very small quantities of oil on water.
The new float version is especially advantageous for tank dikes, e.g. in fuel depots. Due to the changed legal situation, which can be attributed to the Buncefield accident in 2005, measurement and monitoring technology is now required for storage tanks. The float body is made of PVC.
