UVEX Safety has developed an eye safety education and training package for industry workers and employers.
Conducted on-site and tailored to individual requirements and time limitations, the uvex technical team will educate workers on the many types of mechanical, chemical and optical damage possible to the eye in industrial situations - and how to avoid them.
"Some of the potential dangers are horrific - from chemical burns to foreign body and UV damage," uvex quality and product manager Sabah Dunkley said.
"You only have one set of eyes and they face many hazards everyday so they have to be well protected."
Work safety rules in Australia dictate that eye and face protection must be used if there is the possibility of eye damage. However, there is a vast number of products offering different levels of protection for different environments.
"Specific site conditions will dictate what safety measures are needed and our individual consultation, selection and fitting process will guarantee workers receive the best protection available," Sabah said.
