Balmoral Technologies has introduced Ultra Bright LED Displays.
These electronic message signs and scoreboards are bright and suitable for outdoor, sunlight intense high bright applications.
The following is an example of these LED signs and displays at work in the field as used by Delta Electricity:
Delta Electricity required Balmoral Technologies to supply a product that could identify and display the weight of coal trucks entering and leaving the Wallerawang, Mount Piper and Munmorah Power Stations.
Balmoral Technologies supplied Telsor RFI tags and readers which were used to identify the trucks entering and leaving the coal unloader.
Before entering and upon leaving the unloaders, the Ultra Bright outdoor readable LED Signs were used to display vehicle identification and weight. Balmoral Technologies used its EZ Ultra Bright series Marquee Displays in a special outdoor enclosure for this purpose.
The displays communicated with various PLCs and SCADA computers using Modbus TCP over Ethernet. (Other protocols and networks could be used such as Devicenet or Profibus.)
In this application, the Ultra Bright LED Displays were a critical inclusion because of their direct exposure to sunlight.
By identifying the truck and displaying its weight at several points, everyone would know what their load was, resulting in less arguments and more accurate cost recording. The Ultra Bright LED Displays could then record this information in a database for accounts to use at a later date.
