B&K Precision has released a new family of hand-held RF counter/detectors. The 103, 104, 105, and 106 models are available from Unispan Instruments .
They share many features, including a digital bar graph that allows the user to simultaneously view the signal strength on the bar graph and the detected frequency displayed on the LCD screen just above it.
The counter/detectors are extremely useful for locating hidden cameras and microphones. They offer accurate detection of audio/video wireless transmissions. Signal strength is displayed on a 16 section bar graph and a large LCD screen displays the frequency being detected.
Some of the features shared by the four handheld RF counters/detectors include a 300MHz direct counter with 0.1Hz resolution (except Model 106), four selectable gate speeds, a 10 digit LCD (7 digit Model 106), display hold, and a low battery indicator. They also include a rechargeable NiCd battery pack.
Model 103 is a cost-effective counter incorporating advanced features including field strength measurement. It has a frequency detection range of 1MHz to 3GHz and is a compact, pocket-sized test instrument designed for ease of use and dependable performance. It comes with an internal NiCd battery pack, ac wall charger, and a seven-section telescopic antenna.
Model 104 is a more professional counter incorporating advanced features such as field strength measurement and auto hold. It has a frequency detection range of 10Hz to 3GHz and is slightly larger than the model 103. Built-in filter circuitry prevents display of random noise, it comes complete with internal NiCd battery pack, ac wall charger, and a seven-section telescopic antenna.
Model 105 has a frequency range of 1MHz to 3GHz and excels at finding frequencies for secure monitoring applications. It automatically holds and immediately tunes ICOM CI-V or AOR receivers to the frequencies it finds. Built-in filter circuitry prevents the display of random noise. It comes with an internal NiCd battery pack, ac wall charger, seven-section telescopic antenna, and interface cable.
Model 106 is designed for measuring any digital, on/off keying, or analogue signal on frequencies between 30MHz and 2.8GHz. It features a seven-digit LCD display, a squelch adjustment for input signals, and low power consumption with an average five hour battery life. It includes an internal NiCd battery pack, ac wall charger, and seven section telescopic antenna.
