UNIQUE Micro Design (UMD), a Melbourne based engineering ICT solutions company in data capture and RFID technologies, has introduced UMD-Edge, an Edge device management platform.
With the increasing use of radio frequency identification (RFID), new information and communications technology (ICT) architecture are required to utilise and integrate this technology into existing IT infrastructure, and in particular into existing middleware and enterprise software.
UMD-Edge is a server-based next generation message management software that enables enterprise systems to relegate responsibility for control, management and monitoring of Edge Devices, such as RFID and barcode readers, actuators, sensors, and human interface terminals.
