Unimark’s High Resolution Sauven Coder improves CUB’s carton coding work quality

Unimark's High Resolution Sauven coder has improved the carton coding quality of Carlton & United Beverages (part of the Foster’s Group) Airport West, as Carlton & United Beverages (CUB) faced the challenge of improving the quality of coding on the generic cartons to support a wide variety of products.
 
Unimark's High Resolution Sauven coder can print 17 mm high Barcodes, Text, Time and Logos live on line. The High Resolution Sauven coder features an oil based ink in an easy to replace cartridge, which does away with the inherent problems that many solvent/MEK based inks have with decanting ink bottles, drying and nozzle blockages.
 
Unimark’s Sauven coder units are easy to program for Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) changes, and the hands of operators remain clean, when changing out the ink cartridges.
 
The purchase of seven Sauven High Resolution coders has enhanced the efficiency of the plant by providing reliable coding, along with the savings through the use of generic cartons.
 
The benefits for CUB was a reduction in the investment in cardboard stock carried, by being able to order larger quantities of a single generic carton and print variable information onto each carton for each SKU. Using the Sauven coder, CUB made savings not only in the cartons, but has utilised less warehouse space, whilst doing away with the occurrence of having packaging run outs for smaller volume products.
